Best Protein Ninja Creami Recipe: Oreo Almond Milk Ice Cream

If there’s a magical way of hiding the healthy, this indulgent treat is it.

There’s no shortage of Oreo Ninja Creami recipes online. But if you’re looking to add a hefty dose of protein to your dessert while keeping it healthy, you can’t go wrong with this version.

Ghost Protein Powder has made waves in the fitness community by partnering with beloved cookie brands like Chips Ahoy, Nutter Butter, and, of course, Oreo. It all tastes pretty good as a shake

However, when combined with the Ninja Creami ice cream machine, you get a delicious, nutritional treat that’s far greater than the sum of its parts.  Sure, I could poo poo a few of Ghost’s ingredients, but we’re making ice cream here. All things considered, this stuff is healthy. And it couldn’t be easier to make.

Prep the Base 

  1. Start by pouring 1 cup almond milk into the Ninja Creami pint container.
  2. Add 1.5 scoops of Ghost Oreo Protein Powder.
  3. If you want an even creamier texture, toss in a tablespoon or two of sugar-free pudding mix.
  4. The optional peanut butter is a nice touch if you want to add a bit of richness.
  5. Use an electric milk frother to blend the ingredients until smooth, making sure not to exceed the max fill line on your container.

Freeze

Once your mixture is well blended, place the storage lid on the container and set it flat in the freezer. You’ll want to freeze it for at least 24 hours to ensure the base is solid and ready for the Ninja Creami machine. This is an essential step to achieve that perfect, creamy texture.

First Spin

After the base has fully frozen, remove the container from the freezer and place it in the Ninja Creami ice cream maker. Select the “Ice Cream” setting and let it work its magic.

The first spin will produce a soft, creamy ice cream. If it seems a bit too icy or not quite the consistency you want, use the re-spin function to get it just right. Sometimes, I find that adding a splash of almond milk at this stage helps achieve an even smoother texture.

Mix In Indulgences If You Dare 

If you’re feeling adventurous and don’t mind a few extra calories, you can add some crushed Oreo cookies, coconut sugar, dark chocolate chips or even a bit of regular milk or heavy cream for extra creaminess in the mix-in stage.

That said, I find less is more when it comes to these indulgences—the healthier option of just Ghost Protein Powder and almond milk tastes pretty amazing.
