One of the things that differentiate Peloton from other fitness programs is the sense of community you feel. The instructors serve as coaches both in life and in your fitness journey.
Not only do the Peloton instructors have to create amazing playlists but they need to create daily affirmations for us. I think we’ve all experienced a time when it appears that a Peloton instructor has somehow gotten inside our heads, filling our ears with exactly what we needed to hear at that moment.
Their mantras, their words of wisdom, their encouragement push us towards our fitness goals and also speak to our inner thoughts.
Once you’ve been riding for a while, it’s easy to match a Peloton instructor with their quotes. When you hop on a ride or run or join a strength training class or yoga session, you normally know what to expect.
I’ve compiled this list of more than 125 Peloton quotes and I hope that some speak to you as they do to me.
Disclaimer: not all of these quotes are original. Many of them have been borrowed by others and adopted by the Peloton instructors. Often, instructors share the same quotes or modify them slightly.
If I’ve attributed any of these quotes incorrectly or misquoted them or if I’ve left any of your favorite Peloton instructor sayings off this list, please let me know in the comments.
To get a printable download for this list, click on the subscribe button at the end of this post. I plan to update it regularly and you’ll automatically be notified. You’ll also get access to the Free Resource Library with fun Peloton class lists.

Tip: if you want to avoid profanity, skip over Alex, Cody, Christine, Jenn, Jess Sims, and Matty. And if you like profanity, I have an explicit ride list in my free Resource Library (Be sure to subscribe).
Aditi Shah
If you haven’t taken Aditi’s sleep meditations, I highly recommend them. She has the most soothing voice. The yoga instructors including Aditi, Ross Rayburn, Anna Greenberg, Kristin McGee, and even Denis Morton prefer to get us in a quiet state of reflection and rather than filling our heads with motivational mantras but occasionally, there’s one to remember like this one.
(1) “What you have to give, the world needs.”
Anna Greenberg
Anna, in her sweet voice, encourages quiet in every breath during her yoga classes and meditation classes.
(4) “Every fall is an opportunity to refocus.”
Alex Toussaint
Alex brings the tough love. Sent to military school as a kid, Alex went after his dreams. One day while mopping the floors of a Flywheel spin studio, he asked the owner if he could audition to become an instructor. And, the rest is history. Alex reminds us to work hard and to never take anything for granted.
(5) “Allow yourself the opportunity to get uncomfortable.”
(6) “Feel good. Look good. Do better.”
(7) “Quitting is a luxury we can’t afford.”
(8) “Inhale confidence. Exhale doubt.”
(9) “Make modifications not excuses.”
(10) “You can either be sore tomorrow or sorry tomorrow. Which do you choose?”
(11) “You’re not smiling? Fix your face. You woke up.”
(12) “Get your ass up out to third.”
(13) “This ain’t daycare.”

Ally could not have a more fitting last name. In her Sundays with Love classes, her positivity radiates.
(14) “Are you ready? Yes or yes?”
(15) “Show up. Work hard. Repeat.”
(16) “You can do anything for 15 seconds.”
(17) “Give this acceleration everything you’ve got: your checking account, your savings, your shoebox.”
(18) “Don’t compare your chapter one with someone else’s chapter six.”
(19) “You can be a mess but you can’t stay there.”
(20) “You came here to get stronger, not smaller.”
(21) “Not because you want to but because you can.”

This Tread coach also has a popular four-week strength training program, perfect for those new to weights.
(23) “Fight fatigue with focus.”
(24) “Step into your power.”
Becs Gentry
Marathoner and British Tread trainer, Becs Gentry, recently tried out for the Olympics. Obviously, she knows something about perseverance.
(25) “Tough times don’t last. Tough people do.”
(26) “Run into your unknown.”
Ben Alldis
Ben, the seemingly quiet Peloton instructor from the London studio, much like his colleague Sam Yo, is a man of few words. He plays great dance music (I love his Ibiza rides) and encourages you gently with his soft smile.
(27) “You didn’t get this far to only get this far.”
(28) “Progress over perfection.”
Chelsea Jackson Roberts
With her Southern accent, Chelsea guides you through your yoga practice. She exudes warmth and friendly support.
(29) “Trust that you are doing it right.”
Christine D’Ercole
This former aspiring dancer and actress reminds us that her large thighs which she blamed as a hinderance in her career really serves as power and strength for her. She medals in competitive bike racing. Years ago, CDE had Mantra classes which were some of my favorites. They always felt like therapy to me.
(30) “You are bigger than a smaller pair of pants.”
(31) “Drop your shoulders. Drop your baggage.”
(32) “Easy is bullshit. You can’t be proud of easy.”
(33) “Hands on your back.”
(34) “I am. I can. I will. I do.”

(36) “Put your head down and just ride the damn bike.”
(37) “What if you could?”
(38) “Don’t rely on compliments for confidence.”

Cody Rigsby
If you’re looking for a laugh and to not take yourself too seriously, you’ve come to the right instructor. Cody will still push you but always with a smile. I especially love his xoxo rides.
(39) “Grab water. Grab towel. Get your life together.”
(40) “Love yourself with your whole ass. None of this half-ass self-love.”

(49) “Consistency is key.”
(50) “Take the recovery you need, not the one you want.”

(54) “If you think you can’t, change your mind.”
(55) “Comparison is the thief of joy.”
(56) “I make suggestions. You make decisions.”
Emma Lovewell
This former dancer with an eye for interior design and an ear for music will get you motivated with her awesome playlists. She’s introduced me to more than one indie artist (OK, I’m showing my age. She’s introduced me to all of the new indie artists).
(57) “Work out because you love your body not because you hate it.”
(58) “Acknowledge the fear and do it anyway.”
(59) “You can’t hate yourself into change. Love yourself into greatness.”
(60) “Sit in your discomfort.”
(61) “You have to be extra to be extraordinary.”
Hannah Corbin
Perky former off-Broadway dancer, Hannah (formerly Hannah Marie) comes up with some of the most original and memorable Peloton motivational quotes.
(62) “Treat your body like it belongs to someone you love.”
(63) “Your body isn’t Amazon Prime. It’s not going to show up in two days.”
Hannah Frankson
The newer Hannah to the Peloton scene, Frankson adds some great music to her rides. For those of you looking for an instructor who doesn’t talk too much, give Hannah at try.
(64) “Push, push. Push, push.”
Jenn Sherman
Most of Jenn’s classes contain an F-bomb or two. This Jersey girl often feels more like a girlfriend than a coach. Take a class with her and she’ll have you singing and cursing along with her.
(65) “Just fucking do it.”
Jess Sims
This former kindergarten teacher and principal has some of the best one-liners out of all the instructors. She often tells you to get that “glazed donut” look.

(71) “No ego, amigo.”
(72) “We can do hard things.”
(73) “You’re allowed to be a work in progress and a masterpiece at the same damn time.”
Jess King
Quirky, fun, and often sparkly, Jess King can also get emotional during her rides when giving advice to her riders. Personally, I think her Sweat Steady series is one of the hardest ones on Peloton.
(74) “You are you and that is your superpower.”
(75) “Remember this work.”
(76) “Get high on your own supply.”
(77) “Be your own best friend.”
(78) “You were enough from the beginning. You are enough right now.”

(80) “Be your own fantasy.”
(81) “You have the right to walk away from that which does not serve you.”
(82) “Glitter is a strategy.”
Kendall Toole
Kendall, known for her difficult hard metal rides and movie buff series, will often bring in boxing references. Peloton finally added boxing to the schedule.
(83) “They can knock you down but they can never knock you out.”
Kristin McGee
This yogi mom of the sweetest blonde boys often shares moments of her life with her many Instagram followers. This quote really resonates.
(84) “Everything you could possibly ever want, have, or need is right here inside of you.”
Leanne Hainsby
This smiley Brit who loves the Broadway scene as much as I do. She’ll motivate you with her positive energy even while publicly battling breast cancer.
(85) “Done and dusted.”
(86) “Yes to you.”

Matty Maggiacomo
Matty, a strength and Tread instructor will make you crack up as you work out.
(92) “Inhale the good shit. Exhale the bullshit.”
Olivia Amato
Don’t be fooled by this tiny person. If you take one of Olivia’s classes know what to expect and plan to work hard!
(93) “This is tough but you’re tougher.”
Rebecca Kennedy
What can’t Rebecca do? This former NFL cheerleader makes it all look so effortless.
(94) “Strength elicits confidence.”
Robin Arzon
Perhaps this VP of Fitness Programming speaks in motivational quotes? Every ride or run feels like a self-help book (in a good way). I once tried to jot down all the wisdom she shared in the Lizzo ride (one of my top three favorite classes ever) and my hand grew tired.
(95) “You did not wake up to be mediocre.”
(96) “Put that crown on. You just polished it with sweat.”

(113) “Add it back.”
(114) “You know a real queen fixes another queen’s crown without telling her it’s crooked.”
Sam Yo
Quiet strength. That’s Sam Yo. He’s another instructor who’s great if you don’t want someone too chatty.
(115) “Bring it. Build it. Become it.”
Selena Samuela
I’ve been taking a lot of Selena’s runs and hikes on my treadmill recently. What I like most about her is that she keeps it real. To pick up the pace, she recently said “Hurry up like you have to pee and the bathroom’s up ahead.”
(116) “But what if you can?
Tunde Oyeneyin
With her signature red lips, toned arms, and recently shaved head, everything about Tunde communicates strength.

I took one class with Jenn Sherman and will never take another one again. There is no need for that profanity. She soured my Peloton experience and I'm amazed that they let her continue to talk like that. It's not motivating at all. All of the other instructors and the quotes you have listed are A+

Have you seen the new warning about explicit content that pops up now? I had it on my Tunde and Alex ride (it was more about the music). I get it. Which instructors are your favorite?

Can you add a Selena Samuelson “you get good at what you practice”? I am a school counselor and I have printed a few of these for my bulletin board. This was the one I am missing! Thank you!!

Thanks. I didn't know this one. I'm a former teacher (before Peloton) but I totally would have decorated my room with Peloton quotes too. I didn't add to the post yet (I will) but I did share it on Instagram today @mypursestrings.
